Course Profile:
This short course is aimed at all members of staff who lift, carry, move or store items. It will introduce participants to the hazards and risks involved in manual handling. Outlining what is expected from a manual handling assessment, this course allows employees to understand and develop safer working practices.

This course creates a safer working environment by enabling staff members to identify and manage hazards in the workplace.

Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the process of manual handling in the workplace
• Understand the injuries caused by mishandling objects
• Understand the manual handling assessment and explain the various control options
• Have a general understanding of the responsibilities imposed by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations
